I once had the opportunity (& distinct privilege!) to briefly meet John Paul DeJoria – a major moment for any aspiring entrepreneur!  He was introducing a new Paul Mitchell hair care line, but it was what he said about philanthropy and social responsibility that stuck with me.

His message: Always give back… however you can.  If you’re privileged enough, certainly give your time or money.  But, if all you can give is a comforting smile – that can sometimes mean the world to someone too.  Be generous when possible and always be kind and respectful.

And so… while we’re in our Grand Opening season here at PYSIS, what we can give is a shiny new pair of overboots!  We’re excited to donate a pair of PYSIS to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Black Tie Black Jack event on Saturday night!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has invested $875 million in life saving research since its inception in 1949.  In 1964 the five-year survival rate for the most common childhood leukemia was 3%… today it’s 90%!  If you want to learn more about LLS and possibly help them in the good fight to eradicate blood cancers, visit www.lls.org.
